Here at Milford Dentists, by changing what we use and how we do things, we are continually striving to decrease our waste, reduce our carbon foot print and become a more eco-friendly practice.

Here is what we do so far…

• Digital radiographs
• BPA and fluoride free filling options available
• Amalgam free since 1999
• Fully computerized system/ paper-less
• Biodegradable paper cups
• 100% Biodegradable and compostable bin liners
• Autoclavable and reusable items rather than disposable items where possible
• Recycling of soft plastics, plastics, paper and cardboard
• Compostable wet wipes
• Tissues ,toilet paper and paper towels made from recycled material
• Bamboo interdental brushes
• Natural face masks with more than 60% cellulose materials
• Plastic barriers are oxo- biodegradable
• Our disposable suction tips and micro brushes are oxo-degradable
• Bulk buy items to reduce packaging waste
• Local family run dental laboratory rather than increasing our carbon foot print by sending to an overseas lab.
• Try to use New Zealand suppliers
• Strictly monitor amalgam waste by testing the waste water and being conscious about New Zealand water ways
